Chamotte Clay: A Natural Adsorbent for Separation and Preconcentration of Aluminium

The adsorption behavior of aluminium ions on chamotte clay has been studied in this study. Chamotte used for the first time determination trace levels aqueous solutions. Quantitative and recovery were both rapid reached an equilibrium 30 minutes. Aluminium was detected based formation highly fluorescent Al(III)-morin complex. Two linear calibration graphs obtained range 0.5-10 µg L-1 10-100 with detection limits 0.12 1.12 L-1, respectively. characterized by scanning electron microscope coupled energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, energy dispersive fluorescence photoelectron spectroscopy techniques.
